About Starscape

  • Starscape is more than a getaway—it’s an escape into the extraordinary. Nestled on 100 acres of pristine wilderness  under one of the darkest skies in NSW, Starscape offers a rare blend of luxurious comfort and cosmic wonder. It’s a place to disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with yourself, nature and the universe. Starscape provides a front row seat to the stars, making every moment feel as vast and timeless as the night sky. 

  • Starscape is located in the serene landscapes of Abercrombie River, NSW, surrounded by untouched nature and one of the darkest skies in Australia. Specific location details are shared upon booking to maintain the retreat’s exclusivity and tranquility.

  • Currently we only have 1 cabin, Astra, but we do have more coming up in the near future. 

  • We are intentionally located in a remote area away from any shops/cafes. The nearest towns are Blaney (~40 min drive), Bathurst (~50 min drive) and Orange (~1 hr drive). However, there is a village close by (Trunkey Creek) that has a local pub. 

  • Yes, it is 2WD accessible, but we recommend exercising caution, especially in wet conditions. The final 6 km to Starscape is a gravel road and 2WDs shouldn't have any issues. 

  • Only Telstra network works in the area, however, internet is available at the cabin via Starlink.

  • Each season offers something unique. Winter skies are exceptionally clear for stargazing, while spring and summer bring lush landscapes and warmer evenings. Autumn offers vibrant colours and crisp, star filled nights. 

About Astra

  • No, Astra is a generously proportioned cabin (65 sqm) that celebrates space, comfort, and intentional living. It has a spacious bedroom with a queen bed, an open plan living/dining and kitchen, a modern bathroom and a dedicated wellness room.

  • Astra provides year-round comfort in all weather. Spend warm summer afternoons in air-conditioned luxury or cold winter days around the indoor fireplace with panoramic views, and as the day transitions, step into our transparent StarDome to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and magical stargazing. Astra also features a dedicated wellness room with exercise equipment, where you can practice meditation or any kind of movement—essential elements of relaxation and overall well-being.

  • Astra has a fully equipped kitchen with an electric cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher, encouraging you to engage mindfully in meal preparation as part of your relaxation journey. We do provide some pantry staples but recommend you bring any fresh produce and/or meat to prepare your meals during the stay. Additionally, if you have any dietary requirements or if you simply prefer, you can bring your own food supplies.

  • Rice, Couscous, Pasta, Oil, Soy sauce, Balsamic vinegar, Canned veggies (tomatoes, chickpeas, kidney beans), Herbs and spices, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Salt and pepper, Sugar, Peanut butter, Marmalade, Tomato ketchup, BBQ sauce, Mustard sauce, Hot sauce

  • Astra has a designated parking space which is approx. 60m from the cabin (~2 min walk). 

  • We recommend you pack for the weather. Bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear, personal toiletries, food and drinks and an open mind to embrace stillness. 

  • There is a reverse cycle air conditioner in the living room and a room heater in the bedroom. Additionally every room has a ceiling fan. 

  • Astra is an adults only retreat.

  • Yes! We’re thrilled to now welcome responsible guests and their furry companions 🐾.

    A few important things to know before you book:

    • The property is fully fenced, but the area directly around the cabin isn’t. For safety (and because we’re in the wild with local wildlife), pets must always be supervised and are best kept on a lead when outside.

    • The cabin has an enclosed verandah, perfect for pets to relax. Please note that smaller pets may be able to slip through the balustrade rails.

    • The bedroom has ample space to place your pet’s bedding so they can be comfortable indoors with you.

    • Pets aren’t allowed on the furniture. If that’s tricky to manage, please bring your own throws or sheets to cover surfaces first.

    • Don’t forget to pack the essentials: food, bowls, bedding, leads, poo bags, and anything else they need for a comfortable stay.

    • Guests are responsible for cleaning up after pets and ensuring the cabin is free of pet hair before checkout.

    • Please note: if pet mess or hair is left behind, an additional $70 cleaning fee may be charged.

  • Our nightly rate is $690 with a 2 night minimum stay. To secure your booking, we require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation. The remaining 50% is due 15 days before arrival. For reservations made within 15 days of your stay, we collect full payment upfront.

  • We understand that sometimes things can change. For changes made at least 15 days prior to arrival there is no cancellation fee and guests can choose to either reschedule, receive a gift voucher for the full amount or a refund minus our processing fee. For changes made 8-15 days prior to arrival, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking amount. For cancellations within 8 days prior to arrival there will be no refund, voucher or rebooking - partial or otherwise. All refunds will incur a processing and administration fee of 2.5%, based on the total transaction amount. And re-bookings are subject to availability.
